Spiritual Practice: Meditation Rumination

Meditation-Rumination

Would you like to enhance the power of your meditation experience? Add a 15-minute segment immediately following your meditation experience, to spend quality time writing in a journal (yes — writing! There is research supporting the power of connection with mind and heart when you use physical writing rather than typing). Don’t worry about how it sounds — you are not writing for publication or review by others; you are capturing any thoughts or experiences that are arising from your meditative time.

Every so often, go back and review the notes you’ve taken in your journal following your meditative experiences. You’ll be amazed how often these notes flow together, build on each other, and/or provide answers to a question you are currently pondering.

Spiritual Challenge: Try five different types of meditation experiences over the next week, and explore how your journal entries vary with each one.

What awarenesses come up? What actions are you inspired to take?
